We collect data so we can see how our site is being used by visitors.
Your name and any associated personal information is anonymous and isn’t sold to a third party. The only way we acquire your name is through the contact feature on the site.
We do not share your data with any third party and it is used exclusively to communicate with you and acquire data about user behavior so we can improve our content responsively.
If there is an option to leave a comment on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. Images cannot be uploaded at this time.
The “Contact Us” form is used exclusively to receive messages from you and your instructions about how you’re contacted with a reply. Information is received by us as an email. The “Share with a Colleague” form is used exclusively by you and we do not retain any information about the person to whom you are sending the information. Any data collected about the fields identifying the person to whom the form was sent is not collected by us for marketing or advertising purposes. We collect data about how our site is being used by visitors and that may include that the Share with a Colleague form was used subject to the provisions in this Privacy Policy.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Tracking. We use web services, including Google Analytics, to collect data to track your interaction with the embedded content. If you have an account and are logged in to that website, you would have to be logged in for this information to be collected.
Leaving Comments
Currently, there is no feature on this site for leaving comments. However, should that change, if you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
